Hapiga ("we", "us", or "our") operates the InShort mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. You may sign in with Google, Apple, or use the app anonymously.
- Reading preferences: Topics and categories you select during onboarding or through your use of the Service.
- Support requests: Information you provide when you contact us for help.
- Payment information: We do not collect or store your payment details. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store or Google through the Play Store.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Books and podcast episodes you view, read, or listen to; reading progress; bookmarks; search queries; time spent; and interactions with the app.
- Device information: Device brand, model, operating system version, unique device identifier, and whether your device is a tablet.
- Push notification tokens: If you enable notifications, we collect your device token to send you updates.
- Analytics data: Screen views, feature usage, onboarding completion, and other events that help us understand how the Service is used.
- Advertising identifiers: With your permission, we collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS) for attribution and ad measurement purposes.
Information from Third Parties
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo (if available) from those providers. We do not receive your password.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Personalize your experience, including content recommendations and search results
- Process subscriptions and manage your account
- Send push notifications such as reading reminders and new content alerts (with your consent)

3. Third-Party Services

- Firebase Analytics (Google) — Usage events, screen views, user properties, and app performance data.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — Crash logs and diagnostic data to help us fix bugs.
- Google Analytics — Website traffic and visitor behavior on our website.
Authentication
- Firebase Authentication (Google) — Account creation and sign-in management.
- Google Sign-In & Apple Sign-In — Third-party authentication providers.
Subscriptions & Payments
- RevenueCat — Subscription management, purchase validation, and entitlement tracking. RevenueCat processes transaction data from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Search
- Algolia — Search functionality and content discovery. Algolia processes your search queries and click events to improve search relevance.
Attribution & Advertising
- Adjust — Mobile attribution and campaign measurement. Collects device identifiers and app events.
- Facebook SDK (Meta) — Ad measurement, app event logging, and conversion tracking. With your consent, may collect your advertising identifier.
Notifications
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — Delivery of push notifications to your device.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: With the third-party services listed above, solely to operate and improve the Service.
- App stores: Apple and Google receive purchase and subscription data. We may share usage data with Apple to assist in processing refund requests.
- Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
- Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of InShort, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 365 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app.
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection: Object to certain processing of your data, including direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are in the European Economic Area, our legal bases for processing your data include: performance of our contract with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in improving and securing the Service, and compliance with legal obligations. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to analyze traffic and improve your browsing experience. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to help us understand how visitors interact with our site. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some website functionality.
8. Advertising & Tracking
On iOS, we request your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before collecting your advertising identifier (IDFA). You can change this permission at any time in your device settings. If you opt out, we will not use your identifier for ad targeting or measurement.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. 10. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including countries that may have different data protection laws. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
