Subscription Policy
Last updated: March 22, 2026
This Subscription Policy explains how subscriptions work for the InShort mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Hapiga ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy is part of our Terms of Use. By subscribing, you agree to the terms described below.
1. Subscription Plans
InShort offers both free and premium access. Some content is available for free. Full access to all book and podcast summaries, audio narrations, and premium features requires a paid subscription.
We offer the following subscription plans:
- Weekly: Billed once per week.
- Monthly: Billed once per month.
- Quarterly: Billed once every three months.
- Annual: Billed once per year.
Current pricing is displayed on the subscription screen within the app or on our website before purchase. Prices may vary by region and currency.
2. Free Trials
We may offer free trial periods for new subscribers. During a free trial, you have full access to premium features at no charge.
- Free trial eligibility is limited to one trial per user and per payment method. If you have previously subscribed or used a free trial, you may not be eligible for another.
- If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial ends, your trial will automatically convert to a paid subscription and your payment method will be charged at the standard rate for the plan you selected.
- You can cancel at any time during the trial to avoid being charged. Cancellation instructions are provided in Section 5 below.
- We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue free trial offers at any time without prior notice.
3. Auto-Renewal & Billing
All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Renewal will be charged at the then-current subscription price for your plan.
- Your payment method will be charged within 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can view your next billing date and subscription status in your account settings within the app, or through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or your web account.
In-App Purchases (iOS & Android)
Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store are billed by Apple or Google respectively. Your app store account is charged at confirmation of purchase. Billing is managed entirely by the respective app store.
Web Purchases
Subscriptions purchased through our website are processed by our payment provider (currently Stripe). Your credit card, debit card, or other payment method on file will be charged directly. You can manage your payment method and view billing history through your web account settings.
4. Platform Differences
Your subscription grants access to InShort across all platforms (iOS, Android, and web), regardless of where you purchased it. However, there are important differences in how subscriptions are managed depending on the purchase platform:
- App Store purchases (iOS): Billing, renewal, and cancellation are managed through your Apple ID account settings. Apple's terms and refund policies apply.
- Google Play purchases (Android): Billing, renewal, and cancellation are managed through your Google Play account settings. Google's terms and refund policies apply.
- Web purchases: Billing, renewal, and cancellation are managed through your InShort account settings on our website. Our refund policy (Section 6) applies directly.
If you have subscriptions on multiple platforms, you are responsible for canceling each one separately to avoid duplicate charges.
5. How to Cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Cancel an App Store Subscription (iOS)
Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select InShort, and tap Cancel Subscription. Alternatively, open the App Store app, tap your profile icon, tap Subscriptions, and cancel from there.
Cancel a Google Play Subscription (Android)
Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, tap Payments & subscriptions, tap Subscriptions, select InShort, and tap Cancel subscription.
Cancel a Web Subscription
Log in to your InShort account on our website, go to Account Settings, and select Cancel Subscription.
Important: Deleting the app from your device does not cancel your subscription. You must follow the cancellation steps above to stop future charges.
6. Refund Policy
App Store & Google Play Purchases
Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store are subject to the refund policies of Apple and Google respectively. To request a refund, you must contact Apple or Google directly:
- Apple: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support.
- Google: Visit your Google Play order history or contact Google Play Support.
We may share subscription status and usage data with app stores to assist in processing refund requests.
Web Purchases
For subscriptions purchased through our website, you may request a refund within 14 days of your initial purchase or renewal if you have not substantially used the Service during that billing period. To request a refund, contact us at support@hapiga.com with your account email and the reason for your request. We will review and respond within 7 business days.
Refunds are not available for partially used billing periods, except where required by applicable law (e.g., EU consumer protection regulations).
7. Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. If we increase prices:
- We will notify you at least 30 days before the new price takes effect.
- The new price will apply at the start of your next billing period after the notice period.
- If you do not agree with the new price, you can cancel your subscription before the next renewal date. Continuing to use the Service after the price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
For app store purchases, price change notifications and consent may also be handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their policies.
8. Promotional & Introductory Offers
We may offer promotional or introductory pricing from time to time. These offers are subject to the following terms:
- Promotional offers are available for a limited time and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
- Eligibility for promotional pricing may be restricted (e.g., new subscribers only, specific regions, or specific referral channels).
- After the promotional period ends, your subscription will renew at the standard price for your plan unless you cancel before the next renewal date.
- Promotional offers cannot be combined with other offers or applied retroactively to existing subscriptions.
- We reserve the right to revoke promotional pricing obtained through fraud, technical error, or violation of offer terms.
9. Account Downgrades & Upgrades
You may change your subscription plan at any time through your account settings or the relevant app store:
- Upgrades (e.g., monthly to annual) take effect immediately. You will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period, or the full amount of the new plan, depending on the platform.
- Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
10. Suspension & Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your subscription if:
- Your payment method is declined or a charge cannot be processed.
- You violate our Terms of Use.
- We detect fraudulent activity on your account.
If your subscription is terminated for a reason other than a Terms violation, we will provide a prorated refund for any unused portion of your current billing period where required by applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Subscription Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
