Terms of Use

Welcome to InShort. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the InShort mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Hapiga ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

InShort provides summaries of non-fiction books and podcast episodes for educational and informational purposes. Our summaries are original works created to help you understand key insights and ideas. They are meant to complement, not replace, the original works. Authors and podcast hosts do not endorse or sponsor InShort unless explicitly stated.

2. Account Registration

• You may use the Service anonymously or create an account using Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, or email.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have your parent or guardian's permission.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

Free & Premium Access

Some content is available for free. Full access requires a paid subscription, available on a weekly or annual basis.

Free Trials

We may offer free trial periods. If you start a free trial and do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your trial will automatically convert to a paid subscription and your payment method will be charged.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Renewal will be at the then-current subscription price.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

Refunds

All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective refund policies. To request a refund, contact Apple or Google directly. We may share subscription status and usage data with app stores to assist in processing refund requests.

4. Intellectual Property

Our Content

All content on InShort, including summaries, audio narrations, design, graphics, branding, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service and its content for your personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not include the right to:

• Reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or republish any content
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works from our content
• Use our content for commercial purposes
• Sell, transfer, sublicense, or share your access with others
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service

Your access to subscription content ends when your subscription ends.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use automated systems, bots, or scrapers to access the Service or its content
• Circumvent any access controls or usage limits
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Harvest or collect user data without authorization
• Distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content through the Service

6. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason we deem necessary to protect the Service or its users.

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Account deletion will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please cancel any active subscription before deleting your account to avoid additional charges.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Our summaries are complete, accurate, or up to date
• The Service will meet your specific requirements

Our summaries are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute professional, medical, financial, or legal advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hapiga and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless InShort from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Vietnam.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through the courts of Vietnam.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service.

12. General

• If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
• Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
• You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights without restriction.
• These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and InShort regarding the Service.
